Many learner drivers take just one or two lessons of one hour a week. This method means that it can take the individual 14 months or more to learn to drive. Progress is difficult. It is possible, or even probable, that , as the lesson comes to end the learner driver is just getting to grips with the lesson subject. This unfortunately means that the following lesson has to be used to revise that subject.
Research has shown that on average the time needed to learn to drive equates to 40 hours with an instructor, plus another 22 hours private practice. Adding these two amounts together, you can see how it will take a year or more to learn to drive at the rate of one hour every week. It could be that you may get sick and miss lessons, and remember that you and your instructor take holidays. All this time adds up.
By taking an intensive course you minimise the problems just mentioned. Intensive courses have been proven to accelerate the learning process. The Armed Forces, Police and Bus drivers, to name but a few, learn this way.
Taking intensive driving lessons is tiring at the beginning, you are learning a lot of new skills, at the end of the day you will go home physically and mentally tired, but as the course progresses you will find that it gets easier. You remember more of the lessons because of their intensity.
Is an intensive driving course right for you?
If you want your driving licence this year, and can allocate one, or two weeks, (depending on the course you need), and you have the determination required, then the answer is yes, an intensive driving course is right for you.
Look at the courses page, read through what is available, but be honest with yourself. Do not imagine you can cut a few hours from the course and do it more quickly. You have to learn to drive safely for the rest of your life, not quickly, just to pass your test.
When you decide what intensive driving course is right for you, book it, and let us teach you to drive safely in just one or two weeks, instead of a year or more.
